Stefanie Steele

Mission Manager

Before getting involved with Komen Central Florida, Stefanie worked as an associate producer in television news. She graduated from the University of Central Florida with a B.A. degree in Communication and Political Science. She has started work towards a graduate degree in Mass Communication.

As a child, Stefanie was taking steps towards her career and did not even realize it. She walked through the halls of the hospital with her mother who was a nurse in the radiation oncology department. She had been introduced to breast models, chemo patients and tumor charts from the age of 4. In school her science projects revolved around cancer tumors, and in college her papers researched breast cancer topics. After helping her mother with breast health presentations she realized this was her passion and not just a school project so she decided to volunteer with the local Komen Affiliate. Stefanie was hired in February of 2010 and since then has developed her passion for public policy, education, community grants and community research with Komen.

“I have found my calling. I went from being a small child playing with my mother’s pink ribbon bracelets to becoming the Mission Manager of Komen Central Florida. I was meant to learn and teach breast health, meant to impact and strive to be a part of the promise…to end breast cancer forever.”
