Natalie Phillips first got involved with Susan G. Komen for the Cure back in 2002 when she walked in her first Race for the Cure® event in her hometown of Toledo, OH. After moving to Central Florida in 2006 she decided to volunteer for the Race which led her join the Race for the Cure committee as co-chair of registration the following year as well. Having demonstrated her dedication to Komen’s signature event, Natalie was asked to co-chair the 2008 race and serve on the Board of Directors for the Central Florida Affiliate. She went on to co-chair the race again in 2009 and chaired the race in 2010. Each step of the way Natalie’s passion for raising funds to benefit the fight against breast cancer helped her realize another passion for event planning.
Natalie worked as the Executive Assistant to the Southern Regional President at CenturyLink for 7 years prior to her employmet at Komen. At CenturyLink she was awarded the Chairman’s Club award for teamwork, leadership and going above and beyond. The Special Events Coordinator feels she has found her place at Komen Central Florida and is thrilled to have an even greater role in the mission she has proven her commitment to. “I get to plan fun events, help raise money, increase awareness and save lives --- what could be better than that?”
