 2009 Promise Chair Affair

In May, the Central Florida Affiliate had its first ever Promise Chair Affair™ event.

It was about honoring the promise, honoring the strength, and honoring the fight of these wonderful women!

They worked hard for weeks designing and painting the chairs that were auctioned off to help raise money for the Central Florida Affiliate's Grant Program.

Video presentations were shown from all of the chair artists/breast cancer survivors and their beautifully painted chairs were auctioned off on May 27, 2009 at Rosen Shingle Creek.

We'd like to thank all of those who participated: Ruth Cerezo, Marcia Emmons, Joan Eskin, Kat Fieler, Laura Rhodes Goldstein, Abby Laney, Ginger Parkinson, Linda Schulte and Christy Wurzback.

We'd also to like thank Christopher Archer who donated two beautiful paintings that were auctioned off - one of them he painted while he was at the event!

We appreciate each of you who attended and bid on the auction items. Also, a big thanks to our hosting venue, Rosen Shingle Creek.

The Komen Central Florida Affiliate would also like to thank Theresa Ferreri for her wonderful idea and without her energy and her constant hard work, this event would have never happened.

Stay tuned for more information on the 2nd Annual Promise Chair Affair™.
